Socialfy is the social media management platform operated by Hostify (Pty) Ltd ("Hostify", "we", "our" or "us"), available at socialfy.co.za. We are committed to respecting and protecting your privacy and comply with the Protection of Personal Information Act ("POPIA") and all other applicable data protection laws, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) where it applies.

This policy explains how we collect, use and share your personal information when you use Socialfy, and the rights you have in connection with that information. Please read it carefully.

1. What we collect

When you use Socialfy, we may collect:

• Your account information: name and email address when you register or are set up on the platform.
• Connected account information: the profile information of the social media accounts you connect (such as your username, display name and avatar), accessed through the platform's official APIs using the permissions you grant.
• Your content: the posts, captions, images and videos you create, draft, schedule or publish through Socialfy.
• Technical information: device and browser type, IP address and usage information when you interact with the service.

2. How we use your information

We use your personal information to:

• Provide the Socialfy service: connect your social media accounts, display your channels, and draft, schedule and publish content.
• Honour your approval choices — every post is reviewed and approved by you before it is published. Socialfy does not post automatically without your approval.
• Manage our relationship with you, including notifying you about changes to the service.
• Reply to your queries, satisfy our legal obligations, and establish, exercise or defend our lawful rights.

We do not sell or share your personal information or content for advertising or any other purpose.

3. How we collect your information

We collect information when you register or are set up on Socialfy, when you use the service, when you contact us, and when you connect a social media account through the platform's official APIs using the permissions you grant us on that platform.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal information only where we have a legal basis, including:

• Your consent — for example when you connect a social media account to Socialfy or approve a post for publication. You may withdraw consent at any time.
• The performance of a contract between you and us.
• Our legitimate interests, where we have a compelling reason and there is negligible effect on your rights and freedoms.
• Compliance with our legal obligations.

5. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only:

• With the social media platforms you connect (such as TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X or YouTube), via their official APIs and only to the extent you have authorised.
• With service providers that help us operate the service (such as hosting providers), bound by appropriate data protection obligations.
• Where required by law or to protect our lawful rights.

6. Access tokens and security

Access tokens for your connected accounts are stored securely and used only to deliver the services you request. When you disconnect a social media account from Socialfy, we stop using the relevant token and remove the connection from our platform, subject to platform API limitations. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for as long as needed to comply with our legal obligations and resolve disputes. Deleting a connected account or removing content through Socialfy removes it from our platform, subject to platform API limitations and our legal obligations.

8. Your rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your local supervisory authority. 9. Cookies

Socialfy uses essential cookies to keep you signed in and to make the service work. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels in the application.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available at this page, with the date of the last update shown above. Continued use of Socialfy after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
